Arsenal lining up move for Newcastle duo Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye

*Arsenal are plotting to raid Newcastle in this summer's transfer window, with both Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye on their wishlist.*

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has liked what he has seen of the Toon duo this season as Alan Pardew's men have put themselves in with a chance of Champions League qualification.

According to Caught Offside, he will make the pair a key part of his summer rebuilding programme at the Emirates Stadium, with plenty of arrivals and departures expected.

A clause in striker Ba's contract means he can leave the north-east for a modest fee and he could be teamed with new signing Lukas Podolski and star man Robin van Persie in a new-look Arsenal attack.

Meanwhile, Wenger is equally impressed with the box-to-box performances of Cabaye and the Frenchman may fancy joining up with his countryman in London, particularly if Newcastle miss out on top European action next year.

Central midfield is an area the Gunners boss is believed to want to improve this summer, after his side were exposed by injuries to Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta during the current campaign.

But Cabaye will not come cheap, as he has proven himself to be a top Premier League performer and is a huge favourite of both the Magpies fans and Pardew.
