The Gunners came from behind to lead against the Canaries but a late goal by Steve Morison ensured Paul Lambert's men returned to Norfolk with a share of the points.

That leaves Arsenal knowing that a place in the top four - and subsequent qualification for next season's Champions League - is out of their hands. They can be leapfrogged by both Tottenham and Newcastle when they face Aston Villa and Manchester City respectively tomorrow.

Wenger told talkSPORT after the match: 'The only chance we have is to win the last game and let us hope that we do not pay a heavy price for the fact that we could not win today. If you play against Norwich at home you have to win.'

It had seemed as though the home side would cruise to three points when Yossi Benayoun put them ahead in the second minute. But goals from Wes Hoolahan and Grant Holt put Norwich ahead and although a double strike from Robin van Persie put Arsenal 3-2 up, the final say was Morison's.

There was further bad news for the north London side after the match when it emerged that right-back Bacary Sagna, who was stretchered off, has broken his leg and will miss Euro 2012 with France.
