The holders go into the second leg of their Champions League semi-final trailing 1-0 from last week’s meeting in west London and having been beaten at home by Real Madrid in the league on Saturday.

Yet Guardiola insisted he retains full faith in his side to see off Roberto di Matteo’s Blues and reach the final in Germany.

‘I don’t have any doubt that we will be in Munich,’ Guardiola said.

‘Believe me when I say we will make it tomorrow. I believe this for hundreds of reasons. I know there’s a wish for us not to make it, but let us believe that we will.’

Guardiola also defended Lionel Messi, who failed to score against Chelsea and Real, and revealed the 63-goal striker will play after a stomach bug.

‘I can never be worried about Messi, even if he goes 27 games without scoring a goal,’ added the Barca boss.

Chelsea’s main fitness concern surrounds Didier Drogba, who trained last night  despite a knee injury.

‘I think we will have to try and score a goal,’ Di Matteo said. ‘I think it will be  difficult just playing for a goalless draw.’
