Mummy's boy: David Beckham posted a snap of him and his mother enjoying some Great British food (Picture: Facebook)

The 37 year-old dad-of-four arrived in the UK from Los Angels yesterday and, proving he's a mummy's boy at heart, headed straight to see his mother.

Getting into the spirit of the upcoming Diamond Jubilee, Becks clearly felt the need for some good old-fashioned grub too as he took his mum Sandra to a cafe for some of Britain's finest delicacies.

And so happy was he with his choice of grub, he proudly posted a picture of him and his mother sitting at at table eating his favourite dish. He added the caption: 'As I'm sure you would have expected, I had a pie and mash lunch today with my mum. There is nothing better.'

David later visited his nan and her friends (Picture: Facebook)

His mum was clearly excited to see her son too, which is no surprise seeing as he resides in LA with his family where he plays for LA Galaxy.

But Beckham's family duties weren't over yet as he then left his mum to go and pay a surprise visit to his nan in her nursing home.

Posting a picture of him with her and a group of friends at the nursing home, he added the caption: ' Great to be back in London. Paid a surprise visit to see my gran.'

Victoria gave fans a sneak-peek of an upcoming shoot (Picture: Twitter)

Meanwhile, while Beckham has been enjoying some time back in his home country, wife Victoria has been hard at work and tweeted fans a glimpse of an upcoming photoshoot.

'Great shoot for US magazine, coming soon x vb,' she wrote along with a sultry shot of her in a dressing gown and full make-up.

Victoria also posted a snap of some Great British-themed sweets (Picture: Twitter)

But she too has been getting patriotic as she also posted some Diamond Jubilee-themed treats on her Twitter page, perhaps as a sign she's sad she's going to miss out on the festivities in LA.

As well as posting a picture of a lego display of the Queen in Hamleys Toy Shop with the caption: 'In love with @HamleysToys Lego window. So proud to be British! x vb,' Posh also shared a snap of some American GB-themed sweets. 'Love this!! White House M and M's!!! X vb,' she tweeted.
